Book lice Empty Book lice

Post by Eleanor Mon Mar 24, 2014 3:05 pm

In my bedroom. sad I have hundreds of books in my bedroom, but I never really took notice of booklice. I saw a few a while ago and just shrugged it off, but have finally realised what they are. Wouldn't be a problem normally, as pretty much every home in the UK has them and they're harmless... unless you're asthmatic. sad Wondered why I was starting to cough again a few weeks ago.

So now comes the task of drying out my room. Fun.

They don't bite humans. Or animals. Or anything other than paper, really laughing

Besides, every home has them. We always have. The only reason it's suddenly affecting me is because I have asthma and I didn't realise that there was paper and the like down the side of my bed, where it's cold and probably damper than the rest of my bedroom. sad

Are they those teensy-weensy hardly visible to the naked eye little grey things you sometimes see in books?

I'm not a fan of creepy-crawlies.

I went up to bed the night before last and found a house spider (the Very Worst of my nightmares) practising the breast-stroke in the glass of water by my bed. I don't know how I didn't have a nervous collapse.

Enjoy your spiders Eleanor!

I don't mind garden spiders so long as I don't have to touch one - they know their place. But house spiders serve no good purpose whatsoever and are totally gross - they are my worst nightmare.

(Sorry to hijack your lice!)
