First topic message reminder :

As you all know I've had a baby 9 weeks ago.

The last three weeks mylo has been shedding his winter coat.
My other half has gained an allergy to him from this. Which we just blew over and he's been taking the anti allergy tablet thingys.

But our little mister man. Has also developed an allergy to him, he's got this awful rash everytime he's around mylo.

Any suggestions on what we can do?

I don't want to have to find mylo a new home as we'd be lost without him

Thank you
Shawnee

I think that's one of the best ways for a dog to be! Lovely and playful, but with a softer side for children! happy

No problem! Sadly, the shops that sell them don't make people aware of it. I only found out from doing my own research and from word of mouth. sad

If you're interested, there's a thread on common food/treats that can cause problems:

Where do they get those corrections from? Dyson/stain? Doesn't even sound similar! laughing

I'm sure that one way or another you'll be able to sort Mylo's shedding out. If he won't put up with the Dyson attachment, maybe Dyson do an extra sensitive filter? Worth asking them.

He's a fabulous dog! Have you heard about the new law they're trying to put into place?

That if you dog barks, jumps up, growls - or any behaviour that might be deemed as threatening to anyone that may knock on your door or come into your home that person can sue you, you can go to jail and the dog will be put down!
Some postal guy came wandering into our back garden as he "couldn't find our front door" and mylo is protective enough as it is. I've never ever heard mylo bark so fiercely ever! Scared me and I know he won't do no harm! We've had to get a beware of the dog sign because of that idiot.
It's so wrong. I hope it doesn't come into place as dogs instinct is to put fear into strangers to protect their loved ones!

Oh I really don't know where the auto corrects come from! If I type play it changes to okay. And if I type okay it changes to play? Mind of it's own.

Dyson do a doggy attachment lol. It's like a suction grooming thingy happy!

The law's already in place, but try not to worry! happy The chances are that you won't get prosecuted, unless your dog actually does pose a valid threat (for example, aggressive barking/growling/jumping) and you've done nothing to rectify it after repeated warnings. It's mainly to get people to exercise some control over their dogs.

Auto correct is a nuisance! laughing

Sorry, Shawnee, it's already in place!

The best thing to do is put a sign on your back gate saying "Do not enter - dog running loose". Don't mention 'beware' or any other warning words.

The law needed to be put in place to make sure that people could be held responsible for dogs biting on private property. Also, so that legitimate visitors (or even people walking past your property) aren't scared by a lunging, barking dog.

The law does make provision, however, for trespassers - they are NOT protected by the law. However, dogs will have to be supervised in gardens as if, for example, a child were to climb into your garden to retrieve a ball and your dog bites them, you WILL be liable.

It isn't the best bit of legislation ever, but it's better than nothing.

I can understand it from that perspective. Oh he'd never hurt children.

Our garden is separated by three gates. As soon as someone come to the closes gate by the house he barks. But if they go past the house at the bottom gate he just wags his tail frantically lol.

I didn't know it was already in place! Awh I'm an awful worrier haha.

He plays with the children in our neighbourhood so he knows them all lol.

Mylo wouldn't hurt anyone. It's more of "oi this is my house so shoo" kinda bark

But hopefully it will do those who don't have control over their dogs some good! Mylo got attacked by some lab on the beach the other day. He didn't even provoke him. Mylo was playing in the sea it ran up to his and took a chunk out of his lip!

Needless to say it's owner had a few choice words lol.

But I'll get a dog running loose sign then!

The law's unsettled people, but it's really not that bad! happy Mylo will be fine, as he's such a sweet dog!

Poor thing - hope his lip's okay now!

He's just protective over me and Joseff happy!

Yeah. He's got a little scar there bless him! He was more concerned about Joseff than himself! He didn't even fight back. Just ran over to where Joseff and I were and stood in front of us by a few feet!

If it was me then I'd just suffer lol. But because it's the baby I wanted to find a solution happy!

We're away in Tenby from Monday until Friday. So mylo had his doggy holiday in the kennels in the mountains happy! He loves it there!
