It's disgusting isn't it. This is now the ideal. The 'Roman nose'.

Still fuming. That dog is probably going to have awful respiratory and eating problems.

It's so far out of the norm that it's actually ugly - and I rarely call any dog ugly.

Poor thing, I hate to think what health problems it'll have. How the hell is it supposed to eat properly? When it puts its head down to eat, its mouth will be facing its chest! angry

But it'll win shows, make it's owner money.. nothing else matters, didn't you know.
I get so furious! This is what the Kennel unions should stop but they joyfully allow it to happen.

I really wonder what dogs we'll be able to have in the future that will be even slightly healthy and not completely f'd up!

Certainly in the UK it won't win! The KC is cracking down on over-exaggeration (about time) and this one wouldn't get anywhere.

But it frightens me that people are saying how beautiful the dog is, and how great her head is! shocked

It's still sickening what show breeders do to their dogs for a rosette, a bag of food and a title.

That's the only one I've seen. Awful.

There are some people within the breed that try to breed for an exaggerated 'roman' profile. But it's totally against the breed standard....

Head long, strong and deep right to end of muzzle, but not coarse. Viewed from front egg-shaped and completely filled, its surface free from hollows or indentations. Top of skull almost flat from ear to ear. Profile curves gently downwards from top of skull to tip of nose which should be black and bent downwards at tip. Nostrils well developed and under-jaw deep and strong.

That is NOT a gentle curve, the nose doesn't turn down at the end, and the under jaw is weak!

Here's another angle. Not quite so bad, but still way too exaggerated for my liking!
