I'll admit that I have heard that EBTs can be a bit dim, but that's just surely another doggy myth.
In my limited experience of them, I think they're gorgeous.

Dempsey's about as thick as they get! 
I love them, though I love Dempsey more.
He's not a perfect match of the EBT standard, but I actually prefer him to the standard 
He's my scruffy little boy, with his too-big ears, long coat, smut markings, bald patch on his tail, scruffy face and pot belly.
