Boomer balls

Post by Chiara on Mon Sep 15, 2014 12:09 pm

Lola loves her boomer ball. She shakes with excitement when she sees it and goes crazy with it. I can only let her have it for a few minutes because she is so hyper with it. Lily isn't really interested in it. It's funny how different they are big grin

We have to separate ours with theirs . Tilly loves it and happily and very enthusiastically plays with it , Tommy just wants whichever one Tilly has got. If he is on his own with it , like sticks and stuff he gets over excited and randomly tears lumps of grass out

Dempsey will manically chase his around for 5 minutes, then suddenly realises he's using energy! The ball gets left 200 yards away & we have to go get it!

We haven't got a boomer ball, but I have to say that I am so relieved to learn that I haven't got the only dog who goes hyper with excitement!

I've thought about getting a few for my lot but have read so many posts about worn teeth and torn dew claws from playing ... I'm kind of on the fence still.

I can only let Bacchus play with his for a very short time in case the neighbours think there's a dog killing something and call the police. laughing

There was somebody at the old forum, whose dog had worn down his teeth due to a boomer ball. This was because he'd been left, unsupervised, to chew it all day with nothing else to do. With supervised playing, for twenty-ish minutes each day, I don't think it would hurt! Unless they sat down with it and really started to chomp. tongue

Demps sometimes bites his tongue a bit when he chases it, but not badly.

Lola has wrecked a few boomers. She claws and bites at them so they get ridges on them. She gets so focused on it she has scraped under her chin and her wrists playing with it big grin
