Giving up Obedience Empty Giving up Obedience

Post by Shisa Fri Sep 19, 2014 11:27 am

I've decided that I'm going to shelve competitive Obedience.
It's lost the challenge for me and I am going to focus more on the Working trials from now on.
There's really not much more I can learn; and although my dogs have more to learn and refine I'm bored with it. Going to start morphing my dogs into Tracker dogs. It's always a challenge and there's always something harder to work towards.
I think this is something Lequita can also enjoy and excel at. She does not enjoy the 'officialness'/pressure of Obedience. I know Spike and Axel will love it.

Good idea; it'll make everything fresh & new.

will you be joining a club or doing by yourself?

I'll be joining a group. The same group that made me swore off IPO but without the horrid man doing the IPO training.
It's people I know and they compete a lot so will be nice to be among a more competitive group as well. At my school we're only 3 that work up to competition levels and only 2 of us have competed.

I missed this earlier somehow confused

Good luck with the tracker training - it's something I've considered for Kuchar as he often has his nose to the ground following a trail!
