Harvey's been attacked

Poor baby, we only went for a quick walk before bed at 7am this morning, yes harvey was offlead peeing on everything in sight when a big male lab bowled him over and grabbed him by the head. Thank god Chance wasn't involved otherwise there would have been one less lab in the world.

Vets got us straight in and stitched it, but he's home and eaten just feeling very sorry for himself and nervous. Yet he never retaliated again...

Poor little thing I really hope the owners of the lab are found. I know some dogs are DA, but in that case, the owners should have had him on a lead, at the very least. No dog should be allowed to wander off at the other end of the park!

If we can keep Chance on a lead why can't others! and yet if it had been Chance that attacked the other dog look who'd be to blame!

Exactly! Seems like responsible owners are the ones who get the blame when the irresponsible ones mess up. And in the end, the dogs suffer as well.

The other owner never got involved just shouted their dog, which Martin sent running and left in a hurry never said sorry or anything

I really hope you can track down the owner - they should on all conscience pay your vet bill. And NOT let the dog off the lead again if they can't control him (which they clearly couldn't).

Ella, you are a saint. Harvey had every right to be in that place at that time; there are no excuses for the dog that nearly ripped his ear off.

Yeah we are all fine, Harvey is fine this morning bouncing round the house like nothing happened, and raced round the garden with Chance so back to normal

Glad he's ok. That is a nasty wound. Luckily dogs aren't as sissy about pain as we are.

The other owners are wankers. Dogs bite each other; but if your dog bites man up and take responsibility. Make sure the other dog is ok and offer to pay the bill. Don't just run off! I can only think it's happened more than once before and they would have been in trouble.

Hes ok at the moment thanks nervous round chance which I guess is to be expected but I've got plenty of photos just in case

Is he very sore? Not all dogs are negatively affected by attacks like this - let's hope Harvey's one of the lucky ones.

He doesn't seem very sore, and he's not scratching at the stitches so hes not had to wear the collar, he's just abit head shy at the moment
