I have a combustion fire. No mess, no fuss, no smoke if you burn it right. ( though we do have to lug wood) & all the joy of an open fire.

Nothing better than a fire, a glass of red, card games or doggie cuddles by the fire.

I prefer electric fires to old-fashioned coal fires. I do miss the memories of sitting in front of our old open fire when I was little, holding a slipper in preparation for slapping out the sparks that fell on the carpet. I'd sooner opt for the pollution-free version, though, where non-renewable energy sources aren't used up!

I open the door, grab a long skinny stick & toast marshmallows. I eat them straight off the stick! Love it.  love

Yeah, but I am quite willing to pay the price. I especially love when they catch fire so the outside is crunchy, then so smooth in the centre.

God, I'm wishing it was cold so I could light the fire now. rolling on floor
