Continuing my writing

Post by Eleanor on Thu Dec 25, 2014 9:42 pm

I took a long break from my writing to focus on personal issues, but I didn't realise just how much I've missed it until I started again a couple of hours ago!

I'm continuing the one that got interest from the publisher a while ago, as it's the one I feel the most confident about. As an early New Year's resolution (which I never make!), I'm resolving to get this published by the end of 2015. Won't be selling it for any money, of course, but it's never been about the money!

The only trouble is, I have to be in a certain mood to write! laughing It isn't a particularly happy story. Cue the long playlists of mood music!

I wouldn't say it's true, but I've drawn a lot of my inspiration from past serial killers! Bit of a twist to it, though. happy I've noticed that the majority of crime/thriller books I've read have been told from the point of view of somebody quite important, i.e., a police officer or the serial killer him/herself. So I've made the protagonist of my story as plain and average as possible! happy It's still a work in progress, so I can't really reveal much about it. tongue

Can't wait to read it!

One of the cleverest sets of books I have read were all telling the tale of Morgan le Fey, each of the seven books told the same story - but from a different person's view-point; it really illustrated how different people can interpret the same event according to their experience and understanding.

That's the problem I have with it! laughing I'm an annoying perfectionist and I'll be mortified if people I know read it!

I love to explore different writing styles. I was reading C.S. Lewis by the time I was five - used to amaze my teachers, apparently! laughing But it's something I've been raised around, especially as mum writes, as well.
