Pain Relief Empty Pain Relief

There's often a dilema when faced by an ache or strain in a dog. Vets won't prescribe anything unless they see the dog, resulting in a consultation fee plus the cost of medication.

A lot of people will give half an aspirin a couple of times a day, but that can upset a dog's stomach, and paracetamol should never be given to dogs unless advised by a vet. So here's a doggie pain killer that's safe to use (short term, of course) and doesn't need a prescription as long as you register your dog on the site...

I personally give arnica internally, and rubbed on the strain (if applicable)

I know homeopathy is a debatable subject, but works for me happy

Absolutely, Ella! But for those who either don't have the alternative remedies or who prefer the conventional medicines this is a possible short-term remedy.

Arnica is the only "homeopathic" remedy I have faith in. When I was 14 my bare foot got stamped on by my pony's iron shod hoof (and I mean stamped). I felt sure it was broken (there was a dent in the middle of my foot and lumps at each end, and obviously it hurt a little bit! In those Dark Ages there was no A&E, or even a local hospital! So a nice old doctor prescribed a big bottle of Flowers of Arnica, which was sploshed on at intervals. I was walking sound within a week.

Ever since then I have used Flower of Arnica on bruises. Unfortunately I can't get the solution any more from the chemist, only Arnica gel, which is not as good but worked pretty well with my broken finger last year.
