And although it hurts it's not even nearly as bad as I imagined. Decided to go with life size (thanks Lorraine) after seeing the shrunken designs. Mixed up Xan's print with the one I had with the little heart in it. He said no way could he do an exact replica but the shape of the toes and pad are Xan's.

It still looks awful as I haven't had it for an hour yet but I LOVE it! It'll still change a lot as bruising fades and the colours settle to show shading.

Thanks, I think so too. I'll go back in about 2 months and we'll do some more shading and finishing touches.

Thank you. Can't wait for the bruising to fade to see what it really looks like.

P.S: I almost started crying when he was done, as it has a lot of sentimental value for me, and then my mum started crying when I got back to the shop and showed her because she knows what it represents for me. She didn't know what I planned beyond Xan's paw print being involved.

I can't wait! It's already looking better with most of the swelling and some of the bruising gone.

It is a bit on the 'money could be better spent' part of the scale but save and shell out the dough for a good tattooist.
I'm planning nr 2 and have seen some really terrible, terrible tattoos.
I've thought of a likeness as well and if you're scared you won't get a good likeness (I am), google geometric dog tattoo. Very nice IMAO.

And it hurts but it's not so bad you won't be able to cope. He jabbed me a few times without ink and asked are you ok, do you want to proceed? before starting with the ink.
The outlining and especially the outlining near the tendon and bone of my wrist hurt. Felt a bit like someone was cutting me with a minora blade but again, not something you can't cope with.

I have a tattoo on my shoulder, and I can honestly say it didn't hurt one bit! Mind you hubby has always said I've got Rhino hide instead of skin. laughing

One of our mates is covered in tatts. I really like them but am too chicken myself. He has one of a really beautifully done dragon from his hip to ankle that wraps all around his leg. Took 40+ hrs over numerous sessions. I don't think I could take that.

But his wife dyed his rats tail a lovely hot pink to balance it out. rolling on floor & no, no one would dare say anything to him about his pink tail unless your female. rolling on floor  Trully a top bloke! wink

Drop a pic when it's all healed. I think it's going to come up great. There is no substitute for a great artist regardless of the cost. hug shocked

It's looking terrible at the moment. Thick black scabs on some spots and full of peeling skin bits sick

Are you using a moisturiser? Johnsons Baby Lotion is good - it helps to stop scabbing & loss of colour.

I still have some of the cream the tattooist gave me. I laughed when he gave it to me; as it's cream to prevent your nipples from cracking while breast feeding.
Starting to look better. Just some fine skin flakes. Another day or 2 and I'll post a new photo. happy

That's the shading Tracy. It'll still go lighter but it'll always look 'dusty'.
