She will eat her dry breakfast but, at dinner time, when they both normally bark like fools at the sound of me picking up their bowls..... Jess doesn't bat an eyelid. I call her to her bowl, she just turns & walks away. shocked

The problem is, I can't leave it down or Tyson will stuff himself stupid as soon as she walks away.

She did this ea summer as a young dog. (But hasn't for about 8yrs? now.) When it was stinking hot she wouldn't eat so I switched her dry to evenings & meat to morn. Worked a treat!

It's in the mid to high 30s here now so I'm wondering, I don't always want to eat in those temps, does anyone else has an idea or trouble with feeding in hot temps? She is eating breaky & drinking as normal so I'm not freaking out over it yet.
Maybe as an old lady she has just decided to choose if & when she eats?

Any thoughts as to why now when it's not been a problem for so many yrs?

If she seems her normal self & she's eating something, I'd be inclined to just let her choose when & how much she eats.

Maybe it's the temperature. Would it be possible to give her some frozen food for her dinner? Or maybe freeze a stuffed Kong?

As they get older they also tend to eat less and be more choosy in what they want to eat.
If she's fine in herself and her temperature is fine I wouldn't worry to much.

I know what you mean, but maybe she's eating just what she needs?
