Shaking like a leaf and crying!
Some of you might recall how panicked/stressed/hysterical I was about my university exams. I was 100% convinced that I'd failed my Field Ecology exam. Just got the results back for that one and I got an A!
We have an online news forum for the course, which is where we find out our grades. Our Field Ecology lecturer posted this as an intro to the thread when she posted the exam results:
'Dear all,
Please see your Field Ecology TCA grade below, these have also been sent to the UoN, so your total grade for the module will soon be available on your UoN login.
There were some amazingly high grades here, but also a disappointing number of fails. May I highlight that there is a significant correlation between lesson attendance and grade for this set of results (r21 = 0.58, p < 0.01). Attendance is probably not the only factor in success, but this strong correlation suggests that the two are related.'
The moment I read that, I was like... I was so convinced that I'd failed. The results are posted by student ID number, rather than name, and usually mine is at the top of the list. The first five entries were all F grades, so I was already close to tears. Then I looked up my student ID number and saw my actual grade and started crying anyway.
I also got my grade back for the Small Animal Husbandry assessments - the ones where I had to handle/get bitten by, health check and discuss the background, diet, habitat, health problems, etc. of various animals. I got an A on that too!

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
Eleanor texted me with her grades as my oh & I were taking our son to the station....my reply to her was
"Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! You got an A! You got an A! You got an A! You got an A! You got an A! You got an A!"
I hasten to add that I wasn't thrilled; not at all!

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
I got a B in the Anat and Phys exam! Thought I'd failed that one for sure! It was the one I had to leave early because I was panicking!

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
Thanks! I almost emailed the exam moderator to ask if she'd posted the correct grade, as I honestly couldn't figure out how I'd gotten a B when I couldn't answer the 22 mark essay question, only did half a page of vague notes on the 30 mark essay question and blagged my way through the other 30 marker. Must have gotten lucky!

Thanks both!
Now I'm just waiting for the results from Genetics, Health and Disease, Nutrition and Large Animal Husbandry. No telling how long that will take!

I hope you don't have wait holding your breath for too long Eleanor, but what's done is now done and no amount of fretting will change that. Easier said than done I know!
But I have every confidence in you

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
I don't think I've failed anything, but I just really want to know what I got! I worked my bum off for those assignments and exams! There's one assignment in particular, a portfolio for Large Animal Husbandry, which we were supposed get the results for over a month ago! It was a really difficult one and took about six months to finish!

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
I know you worked your bum off Eleanor. And your ability and knowledge is beyond question.
It's a disgrace that you are still waiting for a result that you should have had over a month ago - I guess you're chasing this, although you shouldn't have to.

Re: Shaking like a leaf and crying!
Thank you! I'm more exasperated than angry. All results have to be finalised with the university by June 9th, so at least we won't have too long to wait.
We've been dropping little hints on the course forum about it. I think our lecturers are starting to get a bit fed up with it!

Thanks! Had a couple more results back since then and I'm still on track, with my lowest grade at a B!
