I can usually nod along and understand why people don't particularly like dogs, but this just takes the mick:

We had so many sour interactions over a decade that it would be impossible to catalogue them all. She destroyed the only pair of jeans that didn’t make my rear-end look like two sacks of nickels. She once chewed open a laundry detergent bottle, leaving a soapy blue pond across my kitchen floor which took an entire day to clean. She once bolted into traffic, overturning the stroller carrying my newborn child. She ate two dozen cupcakes I had made for an Easter brunch. She mounted my brother and urinated on him, although that proved to be hilarious in hindsight. She rooted through the garbage daily. She barked round the clock. She destroyed everything.

1) Don't leave your best clothes laying around in reach of a dog!

2) Don't leave potentially toxic substances at dog-level - especially messy detergents!

3) Don't attach your dog's leash to a bloody pushchair, let alone a pushchair containing your new-born baby, you daft woman!

4) Don't leave two dozen cupcakes in reach of a dog, genius!

5) Don't leave your rubbish in reach of a dog. I'm not even going to add a sarcastic 'genius' to this one, as leaving rubbish bins in reach of dogs likely to go through them is just irresponsible.

6) Barking? Train her and don't let her get bored.

7) Destroyed everything? Boo hoo. Figure out why and deal with it.

Good God, some people do my head in! laughing

Yes, Dave you're right.

I've done some silly things in my life, but attaching a strong dog's lead to a baby buggy isn't one of them! shocked
