Dempsey just let me know, in no uncertain terms, what he thinks of my singing

I was singing quietly while Dempsey was asleep on the sofa. All of a sudden, I heard this gurgling, high pitched sound - a bit like a Basenji throwing a tantrum. Turned around, and Dempsey was howling at me! He hasn't howled in ages! So I suppose he was making a point.

Seriously though, you should hear it. It doesn't sound like a howl at all, but a strange, warbling, gurgling drone. Like a mixture between somebody gargling water and a jack hammer!

It is weird!

Maybe he liked the song and was joining in

I'd love to think that! Although he often wags his tail when I sing.

It still sends him to sleep, which is the only reason I still have the song on my laptop. It's the song I sing to him in the car if he starts to panic when somebody gets out.

I love to sing, and have a fabulous contralto voice (well, that's my opinion and I'm sticking with it!   )

None of my dogs have sung along with me, even when I attempt to reach higher registers which are frankly beyond me.

But many years ago when Songs of Praise was still being broadcast I was singing along to a favourite hymn, my daughter came in from the kitchen and said "I wish they'd switch that vacuum cleaner off next door".   

I love singing too! Dempsey usually just wags his tail or gives me a dirty look.

Some people just don't have an ear for music, I'm afraid. My daughter thought I sounded like a vacuum cleaner, my son has been known to say that I sound like a cat being slowly strangled.

God loves to hear the crows as well as the nightingales, and I am the rock world's biggest loss (eat your heart out, Cher).

Perhaps you should invest in a megaphone!

Just blame the vacuum cleaner! Use it to your advantage!

Yes Eleanor, we need some bass. I thought my vacuum cleaner might provide that, but on second thoughts it's more alto.

Our furbabies grumbling a warning at the postman would be ideal.

By bottom-sounds, I meant farts A good trumpet section!
