He learns very quickly, but unfortunately also forgets very quickly.

Re: Humping cushions
Thank you! It's not really an active thing. More of a spur-of-the-moment training session after he decided to have his way with a large sofa cushion.

Demps has never been much of a leg humper, but he does like cushions.

Re: Humping cushions
Kuchar has to the best of my knowledge only humped 3 things - my arm when I was sitting down when he was a puppy, a visitor's leg, and a (male) cavalier spaniel (whose owner has never forgiven Kuchar or me).
Since castration - nothing

Re: Humping cushions
tbh, it was when Kuchar was a year old and in the days when I was still trying to exercise Kuchar off-lead. Kuchar was happily playing about with his doggy best friend and another nice dog, when Cav appeared (also off lead). Initial playing and chasing about soon resulted (to my surprise) in Kuchar humping Cav. Whereupon Cav's owner took him away. They got about 50 yds away when Kuchar wondered where's Cav gone? and chased after him. Like a lot of Staffies, he went to deaf to my attempts at recall. On Kuchar's approach (not barking, still wanting to play) the owner scooped Cav into his arms and held him high. Understandably Kuchar jumped up excitedly around them (still no barking). When I caught up with them owner shouted "what kind of a dog is that?". "A Staffie" I replied, whilst managing to catch hold of him. "He should be on a lead if he can't behave himself" retorted Cav's daddy "we're just trying to go for a peaceful walk". Which I suppose they were.
Well, Kuchar has never been allowed off lead again. And I still get a glower from Cav's owner if our paths happen to cross.
Sorry! Hijacked this thread!

Re: Humping cushions
Err... The owner allowed their dog to run up to other dogs, who were playing. Their own fault. Next time he/she gives you a filthy look, I hope they remember that.
Pretty much every thread goes off topic, don't worry!

Re: Humping cushions
Although Kuchar has never shown the slightest sexual/dominance tendency towards cushions, chewing/disembowelling figures large in his sins. I'm not talking little scatter cushions, oh no, but those large sit-upon cushions. Just WHAT is the attraction?????? I have mended, patched, mended, restuffed, mended, patched ................ AAArrgghh!
Thank heavens I only paid 99p plus £10 delivery for my latest "suite" (Ebay).
