My mum is moving
She is moving into a flat round the corner from me this week. She had breast cancer last year and has other health problems so her husband gave up work to be her carer but the cottage has become too much with its upkeep, the garden, trying to heat it. She said last year made her realise life is too short to struggle with all of that and she wants to be closer to family.
I loved her wee cottage but the flat she is moving to is warm, easier to keep and has amazing views.
It's not a very good pic because it was a dull day, when it's clear the view across the river is amazing.

Lovely view & I bet your pleased she'll be close by.
Hope the move goes well as I know it can be a really stressful time.

It will be good having her close. My sister's hubby has been helping them the last couple of days with moving things. They are doing a little bit at a time

Still a beautiful view. That's a very responsible decision.
Moving is a schlep though.

Re: My mum is moving
Thank you. We were always moving when I was young. Every couple of years, after getting the house the way they wanted it, my parents would move so I think she has it down to a fine art now

I hope she settles quickly into the new flat. It'll be much better for her and her oh, and far less stress; plus she'll be closer to family.

The move has been going well and she already feels like its home. My sister is pregnant so I think she is happy they are closer. It's her fourth, I think she's mad

Re: My mum is moving
Hey, Caroline....
Your mum sprang into my mind today. I don't know why?
So I want to ask...
How has she settled in? Is she happy there?
Hope she is doing well in her new home.

Re: My mum is moving
She is loving it there Tracy and can't believe how warm the flat is. The cottage was always cold. She's on the 11th floor so it's taken her a couple of weeks to get used to that but she can now open her window a couple of inches she seems to be really happy about the move

Oh that is brilliant news. I'm so pleased she is happy there.
Thanks for letting me know. For some reason I do not know, she just popped into my mind & I needed to make sure she was happy in her new home.
