And if you've lived in a place for a while you tend to have loads of things hoarded that need to be sorted.

I sympathise Caryll - I hate moving house, which is why I don't do it! My daughter, however, has moved house 9 times in 12 years and has got it down to a fine art (including getting Muggins to scrub out the vacated premises).

I'm a hoarder as well! But I would advise that you tell your own hoarders to pack up what they can't bear to part with and take the rest to charity shops or the local dump, whilst you pack up the necessities of life.
