Entering a half-marathon!
Last week, I mentioned to my friends at uni that I wanted to make use of the university gym. One of the girls FB messaged me earlier to ask if I was still interested, and would I mind being her training partner for a marathon? Five minutes later... Not only am I signing up for gym membership; I'm also running the half-marathon with her!
I used to love cross country and running at school, but I haven't done anything like that for a while now. Getting right into training this week, hopefully! It's for charity, so why not?

Set up a Just Giving page, and we'll see what you can get! Rather you than me, though!

Wishing you Good Luck Eleanor - 13 miles of road running is not a light undertaking, build up to it gradually!

Re: Entering a half-marathon!
The charity part is covered by the entrance fee - it isn't a sponsored one, sadly! It's the Every Day Hero marathon.
I have 97 days to get sorted. Joining the gym in the morning, as well as going for morning runs every day! Plus sit-ups, crunches and planking.
And no, the parents have not been supportive! But I will do it and prove them wrong!

For God's sake. Just got to the payment section and they only accept credit cards. I don't have a bloody credit card. Absolutely ridiculous!

That's a bit silly and outdated.

Re: Entering a half-marathon!
Luckily, mum's card worked, so I transferred the money over to her so that she could (very kindly) do it for me. So I take back what I said about the lack of support! (Love you mum!)

I am being supportive! I just want you to be fully aware of how much stamina you're going to have to build up in a relatively short time. It won't be easy, but good for you!

I'm fully aware!
And yes, I'll probably need those Epsom salts!

Re: Entering a half-marathon!
Well, right now I'm dying! Joined the gym today and spent two-and-a-half relentless hours in there after uni. My favourite was the treadmill! So much fun!
