Oh I read this too and don't believe a word of it!

I was born and raised in North Essex (VERY different from Sarf Essex) and the East Anglian accent used to be considered as similar to Australian. And not because it sounded drunken!

And both accents are different to "up-speak" which has become so prevalent these days.

I would love to know what Tracy thinks.

I must admit that I love the Australian accent, possibly because I had a huge pash on Jeff Thomson (the Australian fast bowler - cricket doncha know) back in the '70s.
