Dempsey's hose work - Day 2 Empty Dempsey's hose work - Day 2

Had a session just now with it and it went very well, considering it was only the second day!

He was down in the garden sunbathing again, so he was nice and relaxed. Not so much when I turned the hose on, as he heard the noise and went crazy. About half a minute of growly snarling and jumping up at the hose, which I was holding above me, before he settled down.

When he quietened down, I put the hose slowly down to his level and turned it back on so that it was just dripping. Good results from that, as he started hamster licking it again.

Turned the hose up a bit so that it was a steady trickle. This got him a little bit bitey with the end of the hose, but he settled down straight away and started drinking the water. Unfortunately, he got some of it up his nose, so snorted his way through the next ten minutes after the session was finished. laughing

He's doing really well though! Very proud of him! happy

I will! happy

Had another go just now. No snarling this time! He had a cheeky chomp at the end of the hose, but that was just because he wanted the water. Had him drinking from a stream of it this time!

Thanks! happy

Had a third session as we came in from his walk. Turned the hose up to a slightly higher pressure. No growling or biting at all! He had a drink, then scuttled past it. He still isn't entirely comfortable with it and wouldn't have tolerated any higher pressure from it, but it's a start!

He also acted like a total girl when some of the water got on his paw, holding it up and glaring at me. laughing
