RIP Ruby

Post by Caryll on Fri Jul 11, 2014 8:56 pm

Some of you on this forum will have heard of Ruby, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier owned by our member, Jane Miles. If may also remember that Ruby was diagnosed with L2 HGA just over a year ago (a hereditary genetic defect which causes terrible effects in dogs).

It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that Ruby was given peace this afternoon. Her quality of life had fallen relentlessly over the months, and she no longer knew where she was or who she was with.

I'm sure that Jane will, at some point come on and say something, but in the meantime...

RIP sweet Ruby, run free to Rainbow Bridge and wait for your beloved Jane to come and care for you again.

 broken heart

Your legacy is that you have educated many people about this cruel condition and for that you and your mum Jane should be proud.

Rest in peace Ruby, and I send all my condolences to Jane and your family  hug  hug  hug

Poor thing. sad Must have been such a difficult decision to make. I hope Jane can take some comfort from the fact that she really did do incredibly well with Ruby, giving her the best quality of life in her final months as she possibly could.

Rest in peace, Ruby.

Jane... I heard the most beautiful thing today. My thoughts turned to you, as I wept & felt your pain.

Remember the time we had together & rejoice. I enjoyed everyday we spent together.
