Post by Hayley Sun Dec 07, 2014 2:51 pm

First topic message reminder :

So before Stella left she has rubbed her muzzle I assumed it was because the bit annoyed her. I put some botanica cleansing wash on it just to soothe it now she has full blown burns/sores in the area. Owner is now furious understandably despite the sores not being there when I left her home.

I've offered to pay vet but I'm ruined I'm just totally done with horses. I'll not be able to show next year cause she knows everyone and is highly thought of and I'm not (no one like me cause I admin a sale site and people always hated that I had rules)

I'll keep my two ponies as pets but I'm done.

Not at all! hug Who could ever get sick of you? hug hug hug

To be honest, I think right now your mind's probably just racing with all of these worst case scenarios! But if it was the wash that caused the sores, then it would be due to an allergic reaction. If an allergic reaction is severe enough to cause serious damage, it would have occurred by now hug Seriously, I really don't think you need to worry about that!

Hayley, nobody here is sick of you! You've got a problem? We want to hear about it, and if we can't help at least we can sympathise!

From what Eleanor said, you did what you thought was right with the botanic wash & YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME! Allergic reactions happen, and until they do you can't possibly know that there WILL be a reaction. If the owner knew that there was an allergy to that preparation or something in it, then she should have told you. If nit, then it's just an unhappy incidence & you shouldn't beat yourself up about it.

Do let us know what the vets say, but I'm sure it'll be okay.

((((hugs))))

Babe, you say anything that you want! We are here to help & support at any moment we can.  hug  But... get off Facebook.  IMO, well nevermind... im not a big FB person.

You did nothing wrong! Didn't you try your best? Is this a different product to what I know?  Isn't it a herbal product? Though it could still produce a reaction I would far rather anyone use this than a chemical!
It may have been the botanica wash... it may not have been! How would you know? Do you have noxious weeds in the paddocks? Thistles, wandering due, angels trumpet, etc?
You did what you felt right & no one can criticize that. hug

I believe it is also a greatly used treatment on elephants as well.

Apparently not. Came home to a big "see you've blocked me on FB"

So I let rip.

Eventually got a "I didn't accuse you of anything I'm just a direct person you've obviously just took offence"

Almost an apology...?

Well. She sounds like a right dense cow! There's being direct, then there's being vindictive and spiteful.

I think I probably did take it all a bit to heart but I was already in a bit of an episode with my depression and then all that happened too. I do get a bit too sensitive when I'm on one.

Babe, just let it go. hug
I used to let things get at me terribly. One day, my 97yr gran (r.i.p) said this to me and I have lived by it as much as I possibly can &.... its true & makes life so much smoother!

There is no point worrying about things you HAVE control of...Change it! Do it differently, make it the way you like or want!
There is no point worrying about things you DO NOT have control of.... if its out of your control....you CANT control it! so worry is useless! It won't change it!

Worry is usless in all its forms. All it does is stress you for no reason.

If this owner can't see you did your best,  that is her problem! Not yours! &as for FB comments.... tongue  who gives a @#$/!

Good to hear Hayley. If she's not big enough to say sorry, it was one of those things and you did your best, then what she did say is as close to an apology as you're going to get.

Now forget it and move on hug

Tracy - your gran's advice was excellent, if difficult to follow. Things I can't control are the worst worry generators ever, but I am trying to follow your gran's advice myself.

The point is... worrying will not change something you have no control over. You just have to deal with lifes bumps & move on.

As for chocolate jelly babies... they are delicious! love (second only to red frogs) happy
I can't believe you dont have them there. They're called Chicos.
