Stupid assignment!

I'm trying to edit together the video for the current group assignment. Finally got the videos to work, only to realise that a certain group member was talking throughout! I can't edit together chicken vocalisations if she's talking about her boyfriend's poodles in the background! Probably means I'm going to have to book time in the chicken enclosure next week, to do some more recording.

Other than that, I feel sorry for the poor chicken who's the subject of the assignment! Getting man-handled all the time!

You would indeed! The same one who made it so difficult last time.

Finished going over the footage. Turns out that over half of it is unusable. She was wearing big, clumpy rings, which is against health and safety, so that can't be used; she was wearing earrings, which are also against health and safety; she talked through a lot of the filming; she did half of her handling on another chicken, which I don't understand, as the chicken we're filming is a lavender Pekin Bantam hen, while the one she used was a black cockerel.

Oh, how I hate group assignments!

From what little I have learned about group assignments (never did one myself) they seem like a very unfair, not to say batty, idea.

I'm just wondering if there is a pyschological (sp?) subtext on this group assignment thing, in that your course tutors are also looking at how you all work together as a team. And if you are unfortunate enough to have an Airhead in your team, how you (separately or collectively) cope with the situation.

I think you're spot on, to be honest! I'm pretty sure it's about assessing how we work as a team, allocating tasks and dealing with any issues that arise.

Any chance of ditching Airhead?

Hopefully, we'll be able to sort something out! We were considering asking her to make a decision regarding whether or not she actually wanted to be a part of the group, but then we managed to patch things up with her. I'll see what I can salvage from the footage first, and then get back to the rest of the group.

Well everyone deserves (if they're lucky) a second - or is it third - chance. You've all been very kind and carried her this far.

I agree. She can't rely on the rest of the group all year, when she also has her own assignments to do.

She is a right pain in the bloody arse!!! I don't even know her and I want to punch her face.

I belive it's called a dead weight. We normally just cut the branch off & mulch it.

Made up my mind - I'm heading back in next week to shoot some more footage. If she's not there, I'll be very peed off.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as just chucking her out of the group. It would probably reflect badly on the rest of the group, as it would count as a failure to compromise/cooperate as a group.

But yes, she's a pain in the rear!

Oh, I wish! Unfortunately, there's a 15 minute restriction on the video, which needs to be completely filled with assignment work.

I might do that for fun, though, outside of the assignment!

Gosh, I feel so cross! So who exactly is failing to compromise/co-operate? I'm guessing the lazy, jingling, yappy one.

I think they'd probably put the blame squarely on all of us! I'm sure we'll be able to get something sorted, though.
