My Office Has Been Burgled!

Some low life broke into the Church on Thursday morning (about 1am), jemmied open my office door & ransacked it! He forced open locked filing cabinets and two wall safes (luckily there was nothing in them!) and left candle wax everywhere - he used several candles from the church to light his way!

This is why churches have to be locked these days, and not only at night; a sad sign of the times.

Oh! Thats awful! I remember when I could walk into a church at 2am.

Scum bag. What kind of monster tries to steal from a Church? Religion aside, Churches rely on donations from the parish. It takes a special kind of creep to steal from somebody's charity.

I'm okay, although I have taken to locking the door when I count the candle money!

My boss won't lock the church during the day as he feels it should be available to anyone who wants to pray, or just to spend some quiet time. The break in was between 11:30pm and 1am, though, so the church was locked - he just used a crow bar.

Yes. Sadly, in the UK at least, all churches are shut overnight!

Sadly, many churches are now locked up during the day as well. Many has been the time I have wanted to look around a church and found it locked, even in Greece.

Nothing is safe or sacred anymore.
