Hope I'm not disrespecting an entire culture by saying this, but I think it's ridiculous. They're gorgeous dogs, yes, but I still can't stand the idea of status dogs in any way. Bouncing up the price of a dog to that amount is going to make it impossible for them to be anything other than status dogs.

I'm very uncomfortable about it. I understand that they are prized 'possessions', but that sort of figure is ludicrous.

It really is. I'm sure they'll be looked after very well, but for what reason? Because they're loved family dogs or because they cost a lot of money?

That's my problem with charging such an obscene amount of money for dogs. For KC registered breeders, who charge a little over average for the pups they breed, it's understandable - they spend a lot of money on health checks and appropriate care for the dog and her litter.

I saw an ad for great danes, one was blue and the rest normal tan. The blue was 500£ more than the rest! I e-mailed them saying a few choice words haha

You'd think Great Danes have enough health problems, without adding to it.
