No I didn't either. Poor dogs. Reminds me of the dogs that were used to turn the spits of meat over open fires a few hundred years earlier.

Not so sure that simply providing them with a bowl of water meets the standards of animal welfare, as the article mentions. Thankfully this practice doesn't still exist!
