I don't mind ferrets but am scared of them biting me! They're also a bit on the smelly side.

Several years ago now a young lad used to walk what I thought was a ferret (but he told me it was polecat) around on a harness like picture 4. Unfortunately the animal escaped and was never seen again  sad

They're very rough-and-tumble animals, definitely, but they usually don't mean to bite as such! happy They have incredibly tough skin, so when they play with each other, they bite hard. Usually around the scruff area, so they'll often latch onto loose skin on your hands. tongue They can also be very sweet and fun though! An unbelievable amount of character for such a small animal.

But yeah, very smelly! laughing

Yikes - polecats as pets! To be honest, I'm not at all surprised that it escaped. They're extremely difficult to domesticate and will very quickly find holes in their enclosures. He should have settled with a ferret! laughing Polecats are the type of animals to persist with something until they manage to do it.
