rescheduled Bellas spay
Bella was booked in to get spayed this morning but I had to reschedule for next tuesday. She's having a false pregnancy
I've got Galastop to give her for the next week, she'll get spayed, then carry on with the galastop if it's needed. It's not ideal but Bella has a season every four months and has false pregnancies in between so there isn't much of a window for a perfect time to be done.
On the plus side, she was very happy to get a biscuit from the vet then get home for her breakfast

That must be quite a story to deal with. Her life and yours will be so much better, safer and healthier when she's done. Good luck!

My wee psycho girl. Hopefully she will feel better eventually when she doesn't have her hormones going mad.

Poor Bella
My Dobermanns inevitably had false pregnancies after every season, and were so much happier after they were spayed.
In two or three weeks it will all be over and forgotten and peace will reign!

Ah, well, come next Tuesday it'll all be over!
Then all you'll need to do is keep her quiet! Good luck with that!

Phantoms aren't nice - my first Border Collie used to get them as well.

They are horrible, her first obvious one she gathered some "puppies" and got really protective of them. It was like a complete personality change overnight.

Mine used to carry around a squeaky toy. Every time it squeaked she got quite distressed! She also used to produce milk, and mooch around, almost sighing!

Yes, false pregnancies are really confusing for the poor girls. My two actually produced milk - Mother Nature can be cruel.

Poor girl it's horrible seeing them like that x
Bella produces milk and her teats are permanently large since her first season so I don't know if they will go down. Ive had people ask if she was pregnant or if she's had a litter. I got so offended at someone thinking I would do that lol.

Re: rescheduled Bellas spay
As far as I can recall (it was a long time ago) my bitches teats did shrink a bit after they were spayed as they settled into their lives of freedom from hormones. They were always a bit prominent (like buttons!) but not floppy.

It's horrible to see them so anxious and constantly on alert. I'm probably speaking too soon but the Galastop seems to have really helped her. She has been so relaxed most of the day and wanting cuddles. Even Millie is staying in the room and she normally avoids her.

Re: rescheduled Bellas spay
Oh god! My Poppy's spay had to be cancelled due to her false pregnancy, and I chose not to use the galastop, and just wanted her to get over it naturally, but if her seasons are that close together, you'd just want to get it done quickly. Hope she's all sorted very soon! xxx

I hadn't used the galastop before either but of the 3 options I had the galastop/spay/galastop seemed like the best one. The vet said that without it there wasn't really a window for the spay and there was a risk her behaviour would be sort of frozen afterwards.

She does. Not Bellas fault at all but with the aggression it's a horrible situation for all three of them

It will probably feel like heaven for both of you when she's been spayed.
