Re: Tracy
I remember a news story a few years ago about how many elderly people in the UK and Europe die from the extreme heat when it goes over 25 degrees.

Unfortunately, it's true. England isn't used to the weather, so people just don't take the right precautions - hydration, shade, appropriate clothing, etc..

Re: Tracy
To be fair, we did get 30+ a couple of weeks ago! The heat wasn't what was bad; it was the humidity. It felt like I was breathing water!

Huh, we're at 17 and rain as well! Nice day! 50% humidity.
Love how it's the same weather, but you hate it and I love it!

Autumn has struck early, unfortunately.
I refuse to put on woolly jumpers in the middle of August so have had the heating on a couple of times today, and am counting on getting an Indian Summer in September, as we usually do - fingers crossed.

Re: Tracy
I was in my onesie this morning, but that wasn't because of the weather. My back's been killing me for weeks and it was the only clean, comfortable, snuggly thing I had!
The wind's been a bit chilly, but it's nice out in the sun!

Re: Tracy
The sun has been nice, yes (as it should be in August)
I'm so sorry to hear about your bad back, it's such a debilitating pain as I know myself. There is often not a complete cure, but several things can be done to alleviate the problem and I hope you are exploring all options.

Re: Tracy
It's very minor, but thank you for the concern! Muscle pain, more than the actual back. I think I might have pulled/wrenched some muscles while I was shifting furniture in my bedroom. I was ruthless with it and didn't take enough breaks!
My bed has a cupboard underneath it, instead of just the normal space, and it's filled completely with hardback books. Moving that was probably what did it
I love the sun on a breezy day.

Re: Tracy
We've been having freakish weather last few days. It's been in the high twenties and early thirties. We're being set up for some serious cold weather

Re: Tracy
Definitely not! 17 for us isn't really summer. It's more like the average. Summer usually goes up to 25-30 on nice days. Winter goes into the minus degrees. So for us, 17 is about normal!
At least you can enjoy indoor snuggling with the furbabies, Theresa!

Re: Tracy
At this stage I'll be very happy with snow and miserable cold weather.
Axel and Lequita are suffering as they have full fledged winter coats in this 30+ degree weather. It's absurd. They just lie around on the tile floors panting. I've been stripping down their coats with the furminator as much as possible but OMG! do they have a lot of fur. I can stuff pillows or knit cardi's with the stuff I'm taking off.
