Skinned pad Empty Skinned pad

Post by Eleanor Fri Jun 13, 2014 7:59 pm

Always in the wars! When we were out just now for his walk, he started limping. Picked his paw up and noticed that the daft boy had skinned his pad somehow.

Now he's giving me the cold shoulder, as I'm very mean - I bathed his paw in salt water and put coconut oil on it!

You cruel woman! Burning poor Demps by pouring salt on his wounds and rubbing your vile, suntan lotion scented concoctions on him!
I'm telling your mum!

Hahaha...
Seriously though: In all my years I've never had a dog skin or cut a paw...? Maybe our dogs have tougher paws.
Hope he heals up soon.

laughing Yes, mum held him down!

This is the first time Demps has ever done it! Quite shocked! Could be that there was some broken glass or abrasive pebbles and he skidded on them. Also, the concrete outside was extremely hot at midday, when dad took him out front to meet mum from work.

It does look like he may have burned his paw slightly.

I did NOT hold him down!

I'm not strong enough...I just held his head gently & talked to him. It was Eleanor that did the dirty deed!

He does normally heal quickly, so although I'll keep his morning walk short, he'll probably be back to normal by Sunday. wink

Don't listen to her! She held him down against his will! laughing

He was actually very good. He has a real fear of water. Last time I washed his paws, he flew into a panic, shaking from head to toe. This time, he just hid his face and stood with his paw in the water.

It already looks a lot better! The redness has faded a bit and the swelling has reduced. happy
