You forget how small they are as babies but they grow so quickly.
He is gorgeous. I only pray that he's healthy. The kennel he's from are part of the Kennel Union's accredited breeder scheme, so they guarantee health.

Luckily they tend not to be jumpers. Odin is a chewer though. Munches on anything that stands still for 3 seconds.

get used to it for awhile yet. Maybe frozen carrots will help out?
Our rotties liked ice blocks made in old ice cream containers. Kept them busy for hrs.

If you can get a pack of cheap tea towels anywhere, those are great for puppy chewers, especially once they start teething! Soak them thoroughly in water, then twist them up and freeze them - hours of fun! Obviously supervised, though, in case he decides to eat the towels

Yeah, it's not a good idea to teach a Great Dane to eat anything that they can get to when older. They can easily reach on counter tops when grown. No need to even exert themself Blade ate how many tea towels and socks. My mum usually (and very luckily) found them outside in his poo or had to pull them out his bunghole 
He has a bunch of toys to chew and my mum is vigilant.
