How did your dog(s) get named?

Oh, multiple choice works!  

Jessie: She just looked like a Jessie to me from the min I got her, & I liked it, it seemed right, fit well. Never a second choice really.  

Tyson: I wanted to call him "Marvin, Eugene or Problem"    ( I knew what was coming when I took him home.) I was informed... they were NOT ok/ good names by mum for a staffy. My OH said... Mike Tyson. Not a hope in hell but....I do like Tyson!

Chilli: (not a dog but.. nevermind)  she's a ragdoll x chinchilla. So as a joke...  the night i was taking her home...Chilli! She also has 1 ginger right back leg (well 1/2, leg) as well as hints of ginger through out her coat & nose so.... it stuck!

I didn't have a choice in the matter!

None lf the names I came up with were liked by everyone, and my oh came up with Dempsey so that's what we went with!

Dempsey is a great name.

I'd have put "other" if there was one!

Zeta's KC name was Lady Zeta so we stuck with that.

Rio's name came from that song "Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand"

Trigger's name came from Only Fools and Horses (son's choice)

Kuchar's name came from some golfer (also son's choice)

Chance came with his name, they named him after the ambull Chance in homeward bound, and well i couldn't change that!

Xan: Before I even decided to get a dog I said his name would be Xan. At that stage my sister and I were playing Unreal Tournament on the pc and the final boss of the game is the owner of the games, his name was Xan. He was impossible to kill, he learned you moves and outfoxed you. The more you fought him the more he could predict your actions. Well I wanted a dog like that and IMAO I got that dog   

Missy: He registered names are actually Induna Zephyr Ziva and my plan was to call her Ziva. Once I actually got her she was such an ickle little thing the name didn't suit and Xan kept reacting to the Zzzz so she became Missy, because she is one.   

Sheba: Here it is a big dog name (think Ridgebacks and Boerbulls) so I thought it would be funny to give my tiny Chihuahua mix a big name. I still crack up at people's faces when they see my Sheba   

Spike: I was going to call him ChuckNorris (one word) because of what he survived. Chuck Norris is the epitome of toughness and kicking ass. Well everyone kept calling him Chuck which wasn't right and he was humping EVERYTHING so I renamed him Spike.   

Pugsley: Well since the Adams Family I've wanted a Pug called Pugsley. So when this little halfling came along I thought well... don't know when I'm ever going to get that Pug lets name him Pugsley.   

Axel: Got his name by vote. I just couldn't make up my mind between Axel, Kaizer, Falco and Jasper for his name. Even on the 4 hour trip home after picking him up at the airport I was trying to give him his handle and couldn't find one that fit.Next day I got my mum, the kitchen staff and casuals to vote and I would go with that name. Axel won by a landslide and that became his name.   I still don't think it really suits him.

Lequita: She was my mums and my mum used some weird formula to choose the name. I wanted to call her Shadow.
I'm waiting for my mum to text me back on how she chose the name.  

Lequita: Ok - my mum says it's a Shona or Swahili name and she liked the sound of it.
I've also just googled and learned that it should actually have been Laquita   
I actually call her KitKat most of the time.

Even my name Samanda it not correct on my birth cert.   Go with what is true & correct.

Millie got her name from Millie's cookies, one of my daughters favourite shops.
Bella is Bellatrix from Harry Potter. I just liked the name and it turned out to be fitting. She was a little terror always up to mischief so the name suited her   

When i got lexi her house was beside a Lexus car place. So i called her lexi lol I was originally going to call her Brody, which i don't think suits her.

Cheers girls, I've really loved reading how all our babies got there names...... some really lovely stories & fitting names.

Tara - she was named this when we got her from the rescue and it suited her so it stayed.

Stanlie - was named after my father (middle name) who has passed away, I think it realy suits him too .

Hooch - was named by my oh after his favourite film turner and hooch

Aslan: was given this name by the rescue organisation that rehomed him to me; he didn't know it, but I loved it, so kept it.

Morgan: should really be 'Morgan le fey', king Arthur's sister; she's definitely got a bit of magic about her.

Tristan: is one of King Arthur's knights (I sense a theme going on here). Best known for the story Tristan and Isolde. I should have named him Arthur, though; it has it's root in the Celtic word for 'bear' - he's definitely a big bear!
