NEVER leave your dog unattended!
This was on the evening news here today. Lyndhurst is not a 5 min drive from my house. Marriott waters is no more than a 3 min drive!!!

I am disgusted some people would take someones dog.
Last yr here, someone pulled off fence pailings to let 2 mature staff's out to run down the street, so they could steal the 3rd, which was a pup.
However. Why was Bailey out the front unattended? Call him to come in with you for even 3 seconds. It only takes .25 sec to say "come"
I am annoyed that someone would take someones dog but maybe? He went into the street & they thought he was lost? If they did steal the dog..... shame on you!
As for the owners. DON'T LEAVE A DOG OUT FRONT WITHOUT SUPERVISION EVEN FOR 1 SEC!
There's no way mine are in the front off lead, even with me! They are on lead or behind a fence on my land.

Dempsey's never outside unattended - it just isn't worth it. You never know who's around.

That's so awful - I do hope the dog is found soon, my heart goes out to his family.
Kuchar is an escapologist and such a tart he'll go with anyone - someone taking him is my worst fear.

I wish people would be more careful!
If somebody did steal the dog, rather than find him, they're disgusting.

Neither of mine will try to get out but Tyson would go with anyone who fussed on him. Jess wouldnt go with anyone regardless of what they did. Its her house, her family, end of story.LyndaW wrote:That's so awful - I do hope the dog is found soon, my heart goes out to his family.

But my cousins staffy.... he will scale an 8ft fence to get to the other side.
I had my carport roller door rammed yrs ago. I think they were after Tyson. Jess stopped them. (As was obvious by her reaction when I got home.) She is not a happy camper when she thinks her family is in danger.
I also had a brindle staff come to my door one day. Obviously, he was lost. Wandering the streets. I grabbed him, got a lead & walked up &down the street till a black ford pulled up. A lady yelled at me.... you've got my dog! Where was he? Blah, blah blah.... he was so happy to see his family he nearly tore the car up trying to run around it & kiss his family.
Dog theft is becoming a problem here. It has always been that you could tie your dog up at the shops & the worst you would find was someone feeding them dim sims from the local fish & chip shop. Now, we have a problem with dogs being stolen for bait dogs.
I now take them into the local shop at their request so they can fuss on doggies while I collect my goods.
BTW. Dogs are not allowed in stores here so... if they stole Bailey.... are they imbosiles! A supermarket will not allow a dog in, unless its a guide dog. Did they not think he wouldnt be noticed? Can anyone be that stupid? I'm leaning towards they found Bailey. I think they will say they found him, be it true or not.
This is a high staff area. Everyone will be watching.

It's terrible that our dogs aren't even safe on our own properties the world over. Something has gone very wrong and it is sad.

To be honest, I don't anything or anyone is totally safe nowadays, whether on or off our own property.

In a way, it's like babies.
I'm old enough to remember when babies were taken out in a proper pram (which were pretty big!) and the pram was parked outside each shop Mum went into, with baby more often than not asleep inside it. Then in the '60s came a huge spate of baby snatching and since then no-one leaves their baby outside a shop, they come inside with mum even in their strollers. Yes we get our ankles hacked off by stroller wheels, but rather that than .....
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed into shops at all (except guide dogs) so the only shop Kuchar goes to is PAH!

I assume PAH is a pet store there?
Tyson loves going into our local pet shop. His favorite day out. He gets to ride in the car, trot down the street, (hello, hello, hello, hang on mum, oh hello havent seen you for ages. Yes... you can sniff my bum if I can sniff yours.) He knows the pet shop so as soon as the doors open its all "woooof, eouhhh, ruff" he's off to find his friend kelly that works there. He is a little socialite. He gets fusses & treats while I empty my wallet.
Dogs aren't allowed in any shop here bar pet stores but in the little group of locals I go to they all let them in bar the fish & chip shop. Everyone knows it, cops included. They somehow just never notice the dog when they come in. I'm sure they have dogs to.

Yes - Pets At Home! It's like a pet supermarket, and has a vet and grooming parlour as well.
