Actor Robin Williams has died, aged 63

I read about it last night. Strange, how the death of somebody you don't know can affect you.

He apparently committed suicide. I knew he'd checked himself into rehab a few weeks ago, as a precautionary measure. Couldn't believe it when I saw the headlines!

I was coming on to post the same thing - I saw it last night and i'm gutted I think his death has affected more people then he realised, but hope your found the peace you were after Robin gone far to soon RIP x

It's sad. He has been battling depression for years.
I kinda feel that society has failed him.

Quite an inspirational man. I remember reading about something roughly a year ago. A friend of his (also somebody famous, although for the life of me, I can't remember his name - the one who played Superman) had been in a horse riding accident and was left paralysed and suicidal. Robin Williams, to cheer him up, dressed up in a surgeon's costume and bustled into his hospital room, pretending to be a Russian proctologist about to perform a rectal exam.

He essentially saved that man's life by just making him laugh. I wonder how many other people Robin Williams has saved with his humour.

I feel terrible for him if he was suffering from such depresion that suicide was his best or only option. But I will say, as awfully sad as it is, the family he left will suffer far more & longer.

To his wife, family & friends. God bless & be with you. The loss of a loved one no matter how is a deep cut to your heart.
R.I.P. Robin. You gave so much to so many. You will not be forgotten.

Incredible man. I hope it's of some comfort to his family that he gave so much to others, despite the dark thoughts he must have been having.

It really is a dark day. I admired him, his sense of humor,  his dignity & his care for all. He will be both missed & mourned by millions across the world.

Depression is a terrible illness & still very much misunderstood.  

RIP Robin. I truly hope that you are now at peace.

It's so sad that he could bring happiness and joy to so many people but couldn't save any for himself.

Wherever you are Robin, I hope you find peace and happiness.

His wife has released a statement saying that Robin was suffering from parkinsons when he died

I had no idea about the Parkinson's. That must have been a weight to bear.
