Don't really know what to do
First topic message reminder :
Have the house to myself and Dempsey's not settling. Mum usually takes him out for his last walk, but I tried to take him out just now and he flat out refused. He's done that before, but usually gets going after a battle of wills. This wasn't just stubbornness; he was laying down outside the gate, which he never does on hard ground, with his tail tucked under, and he kept sniffing around the space where the car was supposed to be. I tried to lift him to his feet and get him moving, but he just kept laying back down and started shaking.
Don't really know what to do now. I'm going to try again in an hour or so. One the one hand, if he doesn't go out, I don't like the idea of him missing out on a walk. On the other hand, from his reaction earlier, I'm worried that forcing him to go will just cause him unnecessary amounts of stress.
He just won't settle down. He went to sleep this morning after they left, as he probably just assumed it was a shopping trip. Now that it's evening/night, he keeps sitting at the top of the stairs, looking miserable.
I just hope he settles down a bit by tomorrow.

Re: Don't really know what to do
When I was a two-year-old, I did! And that's supposed to be the approximate mental age of a dog, in human terms!
The daft brush will only ever go for a poo in the garden if he's desperate. We're constantly complaining about it! He'll stand at the top of the stairs, grumbling at us, even if the door is open for him to go out!

He polished off all of his dinner, after a little bit of coaxing. Now he's rubbing his meaty muzzle clean on the living room carpet.

Dempsey & Tyson are 2 peas in a pod.
Tyson is a pain if his routine is upset.
Glad he's settled down.

Re: Don't really know what to do
He settled down a little, although he was still only half asleep. Then when it was time for his night time walk, he got himself all worked up again. The moment we got into the garden, he went insane, sniffing around. When I tried to move him along, he started whining and shaking again. There was no point upsetting him more than he already was, so I took him back inside - he wouldn't have gone to the toilet in that state anyway.
Another early start this morning, so that he could go out for his morning walk before he pooped in the house.
Ah well. They'll be home this evening!

He'll be ok. Sounds like he wants his routine restored.
Tyson shakes like an earthquake for hrs when someting isn't right to him.

Going to try to record his reaction when they get home.
Will make sure I feed him first though. Wouldn't want him to have one of his episodes!

Yes, he is! And, like a considerate daughter, I will do nothing to stop him. I will stand there, camera phone in hand, and laugh. Loudly. While they attempt to calm him down.
