Oh s*** moment for a sunday night

Let the boys out for a wee as you do, and could hear them shuffling in the dark and Chance came running across the garden carrying a hedgehog   

He dropped it at his feet and they were both very interested BUT after a couple of shouts Chance recalled and ran to the house, Harv lost interest and went a pee but he's met our pet hedgies before thankfully.

I put him in a box to see if he was alright and he soon came round and unballed and wondered about, so we took him to the farm a couple of doors down which is the only place he could have come from and he soon wandered off, no worse for wear from his ordeal!

Well done for rescuing hedgie! Chance must have a mouth of iron to pick up such a spiky ball!

Cautionary note (not that you need it but just in case) - check your dogs and everywhere for fleas! I love hedgies but the poor little beggars are flea-ridden

Hedgehogs are little flea factories! The fleas are host-specific though, so I don't think Chance and Harvey would get infested.

Just make sure you think of those lovely, hoppy, bitey little creatures while you're trying to sleep! You're welcome.

Mmmmm - I've heard this about cat and dog fleas too, but the times I've been bitten are beyond counting.

Ghastly things, no good to man or beast and don't even form part of the food chain as far as I am aware.

Don't worry i've already sprayed the boys and house with my flea spray it's the first thing i did!

Little hedgie was lucky he caught Chance on a good day, normally he's not so nice and visitors to the garden need dispatching   

God knows how Chance carried it in his mouth without so much a mumble though!

Oh God, cat fleas are most definitely not specific! Evil little sods! They spend most of their time on dogs - identity crisis much?

Fleas in cats and dogs are normally one of two species, either Ctenocephalides felis, the cat flea, or Ctenocephalides canis, the dog flea. However neither is host specific, and while the cat flea can infest dogs and vice versa, both can infest humans.

My two had fleas a few months ago, omg they are relentless! Hate the flippin things. You think you have gotten rid of them and suddenly one pops up again
