Owner fears for missing Stafford
A SERIOUSLY ill man is searching for his Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who went missing during a walk a week ago.
Seven-year-old Poppy never usually leaves Tim White’s side, but disappeared while out in Patcham, Sussex, and it is feared she has been stolen.
She has become Mr White’s sole companion since the death of his wife.
A friend, Vanessa Leon, said: "Poppy will be frightened without him and Tim is distraught. She is a sweet and serene dog and is very loving towards people, but she may be a little wary of other dogs.”
Mr White, who with his late wife has helped rehome hundreds of unwanted dogs through the RSPCA, adopted Poppy after she was left behind alone in a flat and was being fed by neighbours.
"She was very nervous and had bitten her hair off and her nails,” Mrs Leon said. "Since moving in with Tim she has had a safe and secure home and is very loving.”
Mr White said he feared Poppy had become stuck or enclosed somewhere but had not ruled out that someone may have taken her. A reward is offered for her safe return.

Re: Owner fears for missing Stafford
This is my worst nightmare too.
I hope Poppy is chipped, and hopefully still wearing her collar with the required contact details on it.
Sussex, as far as I am aware, is not a hotbed of dogfighting so hopefully she will not have been stolen and unless she has fallen victim to the hazards of nature or man (roads etc) that she will be found very soon.
My heart goes out to Tim White ....
