Harvey's been attacked

Poor baby, we only went for a quick walk before bed at 7am this morning, yes harvey was offlead peeing on everything in sight when a big male lab bowled him over and grabbed him by the head. Thank god Chance wasn't involved otherwise there would have been one less lab in the world.

Vets got us straight in and stitched it, but he's home and eaten just feeling very sorry for himself and nervous. Yet he never retaliated again...

He's very much back to normal thanks for asking Tracy back to tormenting Chance to death, he's been good and left his stitches alone, and all the swelling has gone.

I've been putting coconut oil on his other bites on his head and other ear, and they are all healing nicely and his stitches come out a week on friday

I find that "wiggling" the stitches everyday stops them fusing to the skin, which makes them so much easier to remove. I generally take them out myself if alls well, no infection, attachment to the skin or muscle etc, but our vets charge an extra fee to remove them, (which i think is ridiculous) if there is no issue, mine don't go back to the vet. If I'm in doubt... they do go back to the vet or, my sis inlaw is a district nurse (traveling nurse) so, she is happy to come take a look & has the kit to deal with it.

to Harvey. Paw paw ointment is brilliant as it is both an antiseptic & moisturizer.
& tell Chance to be gentle.

Keep us up with how Harvey is doing.

Hes been letting give the stitches a good check and feel anyway, and they look really good he's back at the vets Friday next week for them out.

Chance unfortunately doesn't do gentle *sigh* but I'll let you know how he goes

Lots of big for Harvey! Brave boy

He is a big brave boy and been brilliant and left all his stitches alone so not had to wear the collar the vet sent either. Plus the fur is growing back nicely now

Yes tomorrow afternoon is our appointment and to me it looks really well, so hopefully the stitches will come out and that's it.

I have claimed on his insurance as the bill came to £220+ and that's already been sorted, pets@home now text when they receive the claim and once it's processed which i really like, so they text earlier to say my claim has been approve and have sent payment straight to our vets so big from me!

Did Harvey not even try to scratch at his stitches? Times I've had them myself they itch like mad when healing!

The PAH insurance sounds good - I shall take a look at it when Kuchar's insurance comes up for renewal.
