Mum (Caryll) and I may be scarce for a while Empty Mum (Caryll) and I may be scarce for a while

A letter came today for mum, to tell her that her sister/my aunt passed away suddenly, last Thursday. I hope everybody will be patient, as this has been a big shock.

My sister & I were not overly close.

But she was my sister & I loved her. I hardly know my niece, to be honest, although I'm her god mother.

She has lost her nan, her dad & now her mum in less than 15 years.

My sister and myself aren't that close either but she's still family. Still your sister no matter what causes the rift.

I hope your niece will be ok.

Didn't sleep much last night.

Really tired now, so hopefully will sleep better tonight.

Just can't quite believe it.

Thank you, everyone, for your sympathies. hug Very kind of you!

Although I'm upset by it, it's been harder on mum. We're going to try to stop by the house tomorrow, to see Auntie Jacqi's daughter.

It is much harder to deal with when you've had a bad relationship with the deceased. I think you always feel you have time to mend the rift and then have to deal with guilt that you didn't do it.
I do hope you guys can have some relationship with your niece and cousin.

I think it just happens sometimes. I have quite a terrible relationship with my brother as well, although we can tolerate each other a bit more, now that we don't live in the same house.

Hopefully! I don't think I've seen her for about 14 years, so it'll be very strange. I just hope she's coping alright.
