Tips for getting weight on a dog Empty Tips for getting weight on a dog

I need to put at least another 1.5 - 2 kgs on Axel. He eats me out of house and home but being such active dogs, I can't get him up to a healthy weight. He is to lean for my liking.
I like to feel that there is something between the ribs and skin and not just ribs and skin like with him.

So tips to get my dog fatter please.
He is slightly prone to an upset tummy.

Come to think of it (typical) all the boys in my house are lean but I have to keep an eye on the girls. I actually think my girls are more active than the boys as well!

Not something I know too much about, but maybe you could add some extra protein to his meals! Protein is quite densely packed with calories, so that would probably help with bulking up.

What worked with Chance is small meals often, he's raw fed but that doesn't really matter, but he was on 4 or 5 meals a day when we first got him. Worth a try?

Green tripe! Raw. Well, you can cook it but only if you want the smell clinging to your house for 6 months afterwards!

Treats could work, but they're rarely good for a dog, and the ones that are tend to be low fat!

Tripe has a high fat content, but it's 'good' fat & won't trigger health problems.

I'd increase the number of feeds & have one feed of raw tripe.
