You know what, I am not surprised anymore.
People leave dogs for all kinds of reasons and yet again rescues up and down the country will be fit to bursting in Jan/Feb when that puppy they bought at Christmas has lost it's appeal and is no longer that cute puppy but a larger bouncing dog.
I get really angry because it's the same every year, yet it happens time and time again.
Unfortunatley, some of the blame needs to go to the type of breeders who sell their dogs over christmas without getting to know the people first.
Surely any decent breeder wants to know their dogs are going to good homes and would make every effort to check all they could before letting a a pup go.
Sorry for the rant, it just gets under my skin that people seem to just decide on a whim they want a dog and after a few months dump that dog when it doesn't work out and 9 times out of 10 that reason is because the owner hasn't done enough research into what they're letting themselves into.

Never fails to astonish me the reasons for abandoning a pet!
This has a lot to do with the problem! Potential buyers should be bombarded with questions by the breeder, and likewise the buyer should have loads of questions for the breeder! Plus, it's always a good idea to do a bit of research into the type of dog you want and whether you're capable of giving it a good home for up to 18 years (or sometimes even longer!).

That's the saddest part. They don't for even a second think they did anything wrong.
