Bye Bye Birdie. Empty Bye Bye Birdie.

She was only about 2wks old when Tyson found her & brought her to the house. Damaged wings & a leg she wouldn't use. We took her in not holdong much hope for her. Slowly she healed & grew strong. She never flew but did have fun running around the house with the dogs or jumping in her water for a bath.

Last night I topped up her water & food & said goodnight with a whistle. She whistled back. love

I went to her this morn to find she had passed away during the night. crying

Aw im so sorry. Its always so tough when you think they are just doing great. Wild animals just do that.

Thanks guys, I keep thinking, I'll go check her water, bring her in for a play... but no. I will remove the cage tomorrow as I have called (whistled) & looked for her out of habit everytime I go out the door, but she is not there now.

I trully thought she'd make it even if she didnt fly. Tyson just loved her, followed her & just stood like a statue as she snapped at him in fear. I think he tried to be still so she didn't stress. love  Jess just walked away... (if you can't be nice I don't want to talk to you.) We had prepared to have a ground bound bird to care for, meal worms, seed, etc hug

As she was classed as a ferral bird, most would not care if she died, but, I thought .... once she's well, if she can fly, it's off to the bush for her or more likely, she will just live here, but tonight... I am really missing her chirps & calls. It seems so quiet now. crying
