Fostering
Some people find that they're not ready to fully adopt a dog of their own, so they decide to foster instead. Fostering a dog involves giving a dog a temporary home until he can find his forever home with a loving family. It helps the dog by removing him from the stressful environment of a kennel and placing him in a home environment where he can recover from any ordeals he has been through. It also gives the dog a chance to learn social skills, training and helps to build his trust of humans up again so that he can be healthy and ready for adoption when the time comes.
Fostering requires lots of love and patience, as many dogs in rescue centres have previously been abused and may need a lot of TLC before they become the sweet, trusting dogs who blend in so well with families.
