Re: Doberman
Dobermanns were my first love in dogdom and I had two bitches, one after the other, over a period of 22 years. I don't see any around these days.
I have some photos of my two beautiful girls and will post a few shortly.

There's a liver Dobe who goes over our local park. Gorgeous dog!

Re: Doberman
I'm basically a black n tan gal, but a good deep rich liver colour is also very attractive.
In my 20 odd years with Dobermanns - showing, training with the Dobermann Club and mixing with the many more pet Dobermanns who used to be around more often than now, I can honestly say that I have only met with one Dobermann with a dodgy personality, and he was formerly trained as a guard dog at an Arab Sheik's mansion (he bit me on the thigh - ouch!)

Re: Doberman
I do prefer the B&Ts I also prefer them with tails, though I know a lot of people don't.
Youch, awkward place to get bitten! I've only known one aggressive dobe and that was dog aggression, rather than human. Unfortunately, the owner had no control over what he knew was a DA dog and it caused Dempsey vets bills of over £1000! Even more unfortunately, this happened to be a liver dobe as well. We almost never see any dobes in our area, let alone livers, so we didn't consider that there could be two liver dobes in the same park and automatically assumed it was the one I mentioned earlier. Luckily, we realised quickly that it wasn't, but the owner of the DA dog never showed up again or offered to pay for vets bills. People like that really let down the breed.

Re: Doberman
Thank you Lynne! I was very proud of them and loved them to bits (especially, it has to be said, Rio).

Re: Doberman
They were lovely, thank you all.
I won't dare tell you what they were fed on, but they were fit as fleas and hard as iron (apart from Rio's hypothyroidism, corrected by medication) until bone cancer got them at the end.

Re: Doberman
Thank you Caryll. These photos were taken on an old-fashioned camera with film - wysiwyg.
My digital camera however is too clever for me - bounces light off the subject, sets the flash, activates the flash, then takes the photo. By which time the subject has moved and the shot is rubbish. Grrr - I'm going to dig out my box Brownie

Re: Doberman
That sounds like me with a good camera!
I tend to stick with my phone, which is as easy (or as complicated) as you want it to be!
