You know when a walk is...
Just awesome and everything goes right? Well i'm having one of those days.
Mr is at work, so i decided to take the boys on solo walks which they only get once in a blue moon. Harv first saw a break in the weather so off we went with his frisbee, got to the park off lead he goes and was ******* brilliant (s'cuse the french) he always good and has 99% recall but today was one of those 100% days. Chased his frisbee for about 20 minutes and off we set for a walk round the whole park and back up to the top. Stayed off lead the whole way even did a sit stay at distance when a pigeon landed on the path and when we saw a distant dog. We didn't miss the weather and got caught in a huge hail storm which hurt just a little bit, he hates being cold and wet but carried on today regardless, back up to the top field and walked all the home to heel
Stuck him in his crate to dry with a stuffed kong, waited for the hail to die down and off me and Chance went. I took his long lead to give him some freedom and run about on the grass. Walked lovely down to the park, but found every spot harv had stopped at or pee'd on long lead on and some nice freedom. Gave us some chance to practise recall and redirection, and he did epicly! Ok he didn't come to me everytime i randomly called but i would say 7 times out of 10 he did, but changed his direction to follow my path when told almost everytime! Saw a dog walking up so reeled him in and got him to sit, he watched the dog walk all the way up AND pass this time before showing off when the dog grumbled at him, massive improvement there. Carried on around the park got to the bottom with random recalls on the way, got almost back to the top when i spotted Ice who Chance does know but it must be 10 months or more since they last crossed paths. Ice if you don't know is a large male husky, so his owner recognised us and allowed them to meet. Typical males had a little handbags at dawn stand off with a bit of noise and slobber (chance was muzzled BTW) quick sniff remembered each other and decided it was wrestle time covering all of us in mud, quick kiss and we went our separate ways. Another run around to give his leg a stretch on the grass, and he walked all the way home to heel to, to his waiting kong
So been an epic day

Sounds like a lovely day! Any pics?
See, people? Rain is no excuse for keeping your dogs inside! Unless they absolutely hate it, but it's usually just the owners who hate it.
