Room -Emma Donoghue

This fantastic book won lots of awards when it was published around three years ago. It is a fictional account of the kidnap and enslavement of a young girl who is kept locked in a reinforced shed for many years. The story is told from the perspective of her five year old son who was born in the shed (the room) and cannot envision life outside. The story takes you through a whole range of emotions and stays with you a long time after.

I couldn't put it down when I first read it - and then I read it again!

I've heard very good reviews about it! It's supposed to be quite thought-provoking. I haven't read it yet, but if I see it on sale at some point I might buy it!
