Hose training starts tomorrow!

I think I'm going to take the positive approach with it. Rather than rewarding him for ignoring the hose, I'll reward him for approaching/touching/sniffing the hose. As a very bold dog, I think it would be a waste of time trying to get him to ignore it, as he's curious and will want to see what it's about. Will update tomorrow and maybe post pictures.

Seriously, though, it'll be good if you can just get him to tolerate the hosepipe being on!

Eventually, I think we can do it. He's had five years of hosepipe phobia though, so it might take some time. It'll be nice if we can reach the point where we're able to hose him down after a walk in the summer, but one step at a time. Like you said, I'll be thrilled if he tolerates the hosepipe.
