Dempsey has a bad stomach... again

We think it was because he was chewing the corner of the cushion earlier and swallowed a few fibres. Poor thing had to dash down to the garden to go to the toilet and throw up.

He had the runs quite badly, with a small amount of blood. He's had some Kaogel and a couple of boiled eggs for his dinner and seems a lot happier now. I'm going to stay home tomorrow to keep an eye on him, but he'll probably be fine.

Also going to buy some bitter apple spray, which we haven't had to use since he was a puppy, for the cushion corners.

Silly, silly dog - when will he learn that chewing things he shouldn't makes him ill?  

I don't think he ever will! Bring on the bitter apple spray!

Buster used to be a right old chewer too, but thankfully the phase passed.

BTs are known for their chewing skills idiocy! One of Dempsey's near relatives died from eating part of his own collar & bedding.  

We hoped Demps' chewing phase would pass! It did get a lot better. He used to chew everything that went near his mouth - rocks, lumps of coal, the stone fireplace, wooden chair legs, hands, feet, the hose, wires (which was very quickly trained out!). Everything. Now he normally just chews his bedding, sofa cushions, bras and underwear. He'll sometimes forget himself and start chomping on the furniture, but it isn't deliberate.

Oh Dempsey! I do hope that bitter apple teaches you the error of your ways and stops you from worrying your mummies.

Awww hope he's all ok now. Millie is terrible for eating stuff she shouldn't! Stones, shells, wood, concrete! She has had to be operated on to remove part of a dog toy that she got stuck as well! xxx

He's doing a bit better now, thanks! He went to the toilet again about an hour ago. Still very loose/runny, but no blood. He's settled down to sleep now as well.

Are Millie and Dempsey long lost siblings? He had to have an operation to remove a huge mass of grass and vegetation from his stomach!

He's a bit better today!

Took him on a gentle walk this morning. He made it to the end of the street before he lost control of his bowels, poor thing, and messed all down his legs. On the way back, he started to swallow and salivate, about to throw up, but recovered from it in a couple of seconds.

He's perked right up now, although he's very hot (which is probably why he felt sick earlier).

I feel so sorry for him but still feel like yelling at him as well.
