Poor Dempster.

He's been restless today & Eleanor took him into the garden earlier, but he didn't do anything. Then about an hour ago he ran into the passage, but came back again a minute or so later. But when I went out there, he'd pooped on the carpet! sad

So took him out (he doesn't like to poop in the garden  rolling eyes ) & he has a touch of bum gravy.

I've given him some kaogel & hopefully that'll settle him. He's feeling a bit sorry for himself now.

Aww, bless him. Thought that was weird earlier! He dashed into the living room in a panic, then ran downstairs panting. That usually means he has to go to the toilet, but he didn't seem interested when I took him out.

Poor thing hug

He's asleep on the sofa now, which is unusual. Normally as soon as he comes back from his walk he looks for his dinner.

Possibly something he ate. James might have given him something last night that disagreed with his tummy.

He's not feeling quite as bad now though - he just had a mad bully moment in the living room. He tried to spin around in circles, but there wasn't enough room between the sofa and one of the armchairs, so he did a funny little bully jig instead. tongue

Poor Dempsey - I hope he gets better soon.  hug

As an aside, when Kuchar got the trots, we starved him for 24 hours and then resumed with chicken and rice. And it didn't work, so we went to the vet and during the history mentioned about the starvation and the vet said "that doesn't work" (as indeed it didn't). Kuchar was prescribed some anti-biotic whose name I can remember - not for the anti-bacterial properties but to soothe his colon (he was diagnosed with colitis) and that worked. I was also told not to give him liver (he used to have cooked liver as treats every day) and so I stopped and when the diarrhoea had gone I tried it again and the trots came back. So no more liver for the poor little soul  sad

Trouble is, Dempsey is not only poultry intolerant, but a right royal pain in the arse when he's hungry, so I try to avoid the starve bit if I can!

Dempsey usually gets scrambled egg if he has a bad tum. We found out that he was poultry intolerant the hard way!

Eggs are supposed to be binding aren't they.

I can see the logic behind starving - bugs have nothing to live off - but my vet said point blank that starving doesn't work.

With tummy bugs in humans, a dollop of English mustard is supposed to work well - the mustard kills off the bugs. Can't see a dog voluntarily taking a spoonful of Colmans though.

Yes and Dempsey also happens to love eggs! tongue

I can't imagine him tolerating mustard laughing And I wouldn't blame him - it's evil stuff!

Thanks Lynne happy I'll pass on the hug!

Yes, eggs are binding & I've never been totally convinced by the starving thing, although I have done it.

He's fine now! tongue Was crying very loudly this morning, but that was because he wanted to go for a walk and was getting impatient.
